About Cate

Cate has over fifteen years editing and writing experience for both print and e-publications. In 2000 she took a position as editor/writer with the education and parenting oriented publication Gifted; overseeing its content, layout and distribution. In 2010 she led its adaptation to an e-journal, whilst still maintaining a print product ensuring maximum reach into the designated market. She ceased employment with the NSW Gifted and Talented Association in 2011 in order to expand her own business interests.

Cate Claark with some of her research

The research, writing and editing of her two publications associated with the 1st Australian Armoured Division, The Black Soil Plains and Beyond and To Fight and Do Our Best have further honed her investigative and interviewing techniques. She now considers herself skilled at interviewing and recording the personal records of individuals, young and old.

Cate also writes copy for local business websites including Club Synergy of Tamworth, Henry’s Guest House of Quirindi and the Dorothea Mackellar Society of Gunnedah. She is looking forward to further developing this area of expertise.

In previous years Cate has also worked in research, attached to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, the NSW Department of Agriculture and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission. She also, for a short time, assisted in the collection and dissemination of information in the corporate sector, with experience at Peat Marwick Accounting and Australian Defence Industries
