The Woodleys of Nundle and Tamworth
The Woodleys of Nundle and Tamworth is the second, and final, installment in Cate Clark’s series on the Woodley family of Tamworth.
In the 1850s three brothers immigrated to Australia, eventually reaching Nundle in Northern NSW. They were Henry, Frederick and Edward Woodley and eventually their surname would be synonymous with the Tamworth region.
At around the same time John and Eliza Robinson arrived off the boat and reached the Tamworth region. Both John and Eliza became well known and respected individuals of the growing town and soon their daughter Elizabeth married Frederick Woodley uniting two founding families.
